Green Bay Packers fans are holding their collective breathes as they await the team’s arrival back in Wisconsin. Worse than losing their Week 1 game to the Philadelphia Eagles in Sao Paolo, Brazil, star quarterback Jordan Love had to be taken off the field with seconds left in contest due to a lower leg injury. Initially, fans and analysts feared the worst.
After the game, though, Packers insider Matt Schneidman, who covers the team for The Athletic, offered a positive observation of how Love was walking when he left the locker room last night.
While the team has not yet landed and tests have yet to be done on Love’s leg, one NFL insider provided another positive update.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Is Not Believed to Have Torn His ACL
According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, initial tests done on Love’s knee indicate that is ACL is intact. In other words, it does not appear (for now) that the Packers’ franchise quarterback is in danger of missing the season.
Initial tests indicated Jordan Love’s ACL is intact. But there’s a wide range of outcomes based on additional scans, which will occur when the team gets back to Green Bay later today. https://t.co/yfwxQVT5vp

As one can see, Love is not out of the woods yet in terms of what his injury is. He could very well miss a few weeks depending on what imaging tests reveal.
An ankle injury, which some fans were concerned about upon first viewing the injury in real time, has also been ruled out.
Whatever the Jordan Love injury is, it is something with his knee.
Green Bay Packers Fans React to Tom Pelissero’s Update on the Jordan Love Injury
After the game, Packers fans were in deep despair over concern for Love and the notion that Green Bay may have to face the rest of the 2024 NFL season without him.
Pelissero’s report was certainly welcomed good news:

Not out of the woods yet, but this was a very needed positive update https://t.co/1iMcwV230Q

When the Packers land in Green Bay, love will have an MRI done on his knee to determine the exact severity of his injury. Hopefully it will not be anything that keeps him out long.
Prior to the regular season beginning, the Packers traded for Malik Willis from the Tennessee Titans to be Love’s backup. Sean Clifford and Michael Pratt, who had been competing for the job, were both cut. Clifford was re-signed to the practice squad while Pratt signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
