Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt Lafleur and Chicago Bears Head Coach Matt Eberflus were spotted sitting next to each other at a basketball game.
Marquette Men’s College Basketball may now be known for bringing rivals together. Green Bay Packers head coach Matt Lafleur and Matt Eberflus were spotted sitting courtside at Wednesday evening game.

Some may say this is a conflict of interest or a ploy to steal each other’s secrets. Others may think these two have an overall appreciation for College Men’s Basketball.
Why are they together?
It was notable to find Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus and Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur sitting courtside together at Wednesday’s Marquette-UConn basketball game in Milwaukee, Wis.
It is safe to say that these two are just enjoying some Big East basketball. UConn is the second-ranked team in the nation, while Marquette is ranked eighth. A top game on a Wednesday is an excellent way to spend the offseason.
Another essential thing to remember is geography. Both head coaches live roughly the same distance away but in opposite directions (about a 90-minute drive for each of them).
Reactions to Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears Head Coach Best Friends
Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears will always be a heated rivalry. Bears fans hate Packers fans, and Packers fans hate Bears fans. It’s just how it’s always been.
The Chicago Bears have a record of 2-18 versus the Packers between March 6, 2014, and March 6, 2024. So, the rivalry is a little one-sided at the moment.
NFL fans were confused and angry about the Bears and Packers head coaches sitting courtside together during Wednesday’s game. How could two head coaches in the NFL’s oldest rivalry have the nerve to sit next to each other?

Barstool Big Cat is a forever pessimistic Bears fan. He knows a Chicago Bears coach should not sit by a Green Bay Packers coach for too long.
I feel like Eberflus is going to give up his secrets (if he has any) accidentally. This is bad https://t.co/mgwpc5r1ip

Jordan Sigler of Gridiron Heroes comments on an underrated portion of this companionship. Eberflus spotted sipping on a delicious adult beverage, while Lafleur seems to be the designated driver of the duo.
Underrated story about Flus and LaFleur at the Marquette basketball game. Flus is going hard while LaFleur has no beer, just popcorn in sight.#Bears pic.twitter.com/Z8k9PMZco8

Chicago Bears fans will always relate everything to Mike Ditka, especially regarding the Green Bay Packers. In all seriousness, though, it is a different era. It is fair to say that some people hold onto “the good times” for too long. #DaCoach
I don't think 'Da coach' would be seen in public chumming if up with Forrest Gregg or Lindy Infante, if I ventured a guess. Definitely cracked me up. It's a different era where rival coaches collaborate & break bread in the long offseason. Get a job and go support DePaul 🏀 https://t.co/8JPVXDDyBP pic.twitter.com/lPsYK9Uf46

All Chicago Bears coaches should ask the last two Green Bay Packers head coaches this question.
“Can you give me some pointers on what to do with a good QB?” https://t.co/vuFC8OQUbK

I imagine that many fans of both teams had this exact same reaction.

This incident serves as a reminder that while competition and rivalry are at the heart of sports, there is mutual respect and shared experiences among athletes and coaches. The sight of Eberflus and LaFleur together, enjoying a game as spectators rather than adversaries.
Given the Chicago Bears with Eberflus have a 0-4 record against LaFleur’s Green Bay Packers, this could be a classic case of “if you can’t beat them, join them.”
In case you were wondering, Uconn beat Marquette 74-67. Marquette may not be inviting them back for a second hangout session.
