Former Green Bay Packers running back and Alabama Crimson Tide national champion Eddie Lacy was arrested by Scottsdale Police on Monday.
According to TMZ, Lacy was pulled over and arrested at around 10:40 PM when officers saw him “committing several traffic violations.”
Former Green Bay Packers and Alabama Crimson Tide star Eddie Lacy was booked for an “extreme DUI”
According to TMZ, a spokesperson for the Scottsdale Police Department referred to Lacy’s charge as an “extreme DUI – BAC .20 or more.”
Lacy was officially booked for four separate DUI charges and the Scottsdale Police Department spokesperson explained one of them in the TMZ article.
Lacy was also taken into custody on a charge of “liquor – possess open container in vehicle,” the spokesperson said.
Lacy was released Tuesday, meaning he spent a night behind bars after being arrested. Many fans responded by acknowledging the fact that they had no idea an “extreme DUI” was even possible.
Other fans remembered how good Lacy was at his peak and remembered his career fondly while lamenting the fact that he put himself in a dangerous situation by getting behind the wheel with a BAC of .20 or more.
Lacy was a huge part of the Alabama Crimson Tide’s national championship win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the 2012-2013 season. He was a back-to-back 1,000-yard rusher for the Packers after coming into the league in 2013.
Issues with weight control caused Lacy’s career to come to an end earlier than it should have. His five-year shelf life was typical of running backs in the NFL, but not for running backs that showed talent like he did.
Didn’t even know there was an extreme version of a DUI..crazy
