In week four, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Chargers to keep their perfect season alive. Kansas City started 4-0 after a 17-10 victory on the road. There are few analysts who are surprised that the Chiefs are 4-0, but many are surprised at how they got there.
Rashee Rice became Patrick Mahomes’ number one option after Travis Kelce was nearly obsolete through the first three games. Rice’s injury, however, has changed things once again.
While the on-field stories are enough, Kansas City has been swarmed by a number of off-the-field stories as well. A recent one involving Patrick Mahomes’ mother has taken center stage.
Chiefs Fans Fear The Worst For Patrick Mahomes And His Family After His Mother Asks For “Prayers”
Per Lou Flavius of Total Pro Sports:
Randi Mahomes, Pat’s mother, watched her son’s most recent outing alongside her father, Randy Martin, and daughter, Mia Randall, on Sunday. She posted a photo showing the quarterback’s grandfather watching from a hospital bed.

Randi previously asked for prayers for her dad, who she said was “in the hospital and is not well” on September 13.
“Praying for God to release great peace, undisturbed composure, and miracles over your dad,” someone wrote in the comments.
Mahomes is on a mission to win three consecutive championships this year, having his families support means the world to him. Going through this trying time gives us a moment to reflect on things that are bigger than football.
