The Green Bay Packers are coming off a huge win against the New Orleans Saints in Week 3, but given the quick turnaround, the squad has had little time to celebrate their come-from-behind victory. It’s their divisional rivals, the Detroit Lions, up next for the Packers on Thursday, and at this point, Green Bay is still dealing with injuries to some of their key players. So much so, that they could be shorthanded yet again when they host the Lions in Lambeau Field on Thursday.
Aaron Jones, Jaire Alexander Listed as Questionable
As of Wednesday, the status of both Aaron Jones and Jaire Alexander remains up in the air. Both players have been listed as questionable to play against Detroit, which means that there’s a very big possibility that both players will be forced to watch their teammates from the sidelines.
Jones, who played in Green Bay’s season opener against the Chicago Bears, has missed the last two with a lingering hamstring injury.
Alexander, on the other hand, is dealing with a back problem, which caused him to miss the Packers’ Week 3 win against the Saints. The cornerback was limited in practice on Wednesday, and it now seems like he will miss his second straight game.
Green Bay Packers Could Also Be Without Christian Watson
The same is the case for wide receiver Christian Watson, who has yet to taste action this season due to a hamstring injury. He too is listed as questionable to play, potentially leaving quarterback Jordan Love with one less weapon against their NFC North rivals. Then again, Green Bay has managed to get two wins out of three without Watson, so they will be looking to get more production from the likes of Romeo Doubs and rookie Jayden Reed.
Both Green Bay and Detroit are 2-1, and whoever wins on Thursday will be sitting solo atop the division.
