Pittsburgh’s week one matchup with the Bengals ended with a few key players nursing injuries. TJ Watt, Najee Harris, and Mason Cole’s injury statuses are all up in the air at the moment.
DPOY Injury to Sideline him for Weeks
Reigning DPOY, TJ Watt, left the game in overtime due to a pec injury. The initial thought was that he had pulled it. If this were to have been the case, he would have been out for, most likely, the remainder of the season. However, after some tests and gathering opinions from multiple sources, Watt will not undergo surgery. He will rehab over the next six weeks and hope to be back out on the field afterwards.

While Watt is rehabbing, Malik Reed and Jamir Jones will handle duties across from Alex Highsmith at outside linebacker. We may also see Pittsburgh bring someone else in to help fill the void for the time being.
Rough Game Ends in Injury for Harris
The second year back left the week one matchup in crunch time with a foot injury. It was believed that he might have re-aggravated his Lisfranc injury he suffered during training camp. However, after running tests on Monday, that is not the case. After the game, Harris had a boot on his foot but has since then been without that boot around the training grounds.
Weak Offensive Line May Get Weaker
The Steelers offensive line looked rough against the Bengals. They couldn’t help opening up holes for Harris to blast through, as he only ran for 23 yards on 10 carries, with 11 of those yards coming in one attempt.
Steelers fans are hopeful that their shaky line won’t get any worse with an injury to center, Mason Cole. He left the game in the second half with an ankle injury but later returned, which is a good sign that he won’t be out for their week two matchup with the Patriots.
