The Georgia Bulldogs (10-0, 7-0) travel Knoxville, Tennessee to take on the Tennessee Vols (7-3, 3-3) this Saturday. The matchup lost a bit of luster after Georgia clinched the SEC East last weekend, but it is always a battle when these two teams meet. Georgia leads the all-time series 27-23-2, winning the meeting last season in Athens 27-13.
Georgia is coming off a 52-17 drubbing of Ole Miss last Saturday. They compiled over 600 yards of offense AND welcomed back star Tight End Brock Bowers from injury. Quarterback Carson Beck is squarely in the Heisman race and he has a boatload of weapons to work with.
Tennessee lost at Missouri last week 36-7, in a game where they allowed 525 yards to a Tiger team that was able to dominate both lines of scrimmage. Turnovers and penalties plagued the Vols, who will need to clean up a lot of areas to compete in this game.

After a slow start by their standards, Georgia has really turned it on lately. QB Carson Beck is a legitimate Heisman Trophy contender. He is averaging over 300 yards passing per game and has been better than advertised. TE Brock Bowers recently came back from an ankle injury that required surgery, and he is back just in time for another national championship run. Georgia has a ton of depth at running back with Daijun Edwards and Kendall Milton leading the way.
The defense isn’t as dominant as it has been in past seasons, but they are supremely talented. Freshman CJ Allen has really stepped into his own recently, racking up 9 tackles and a sack against Ole Miss.

Tennessee has had a somewhat up and down season. The offense isn’t nearly what it was in 2022, but they still have the potential to be dangerous. QB Joe Milton has the strongest arm in football, but has struggled with accuracy at times. The running game is where the Vols make their living. RBs Jaylen Wright, Jabari Small, and Dylan Sampson make up a three headed monster in the backfield.
On defense, Tennessee has a good defensive line. Edge rushers James Pearce Jr and Tyler Baron are one of the best pass rushing duos in the country. Their Linebackers and secondary have been suspect lately though. Linebacker Aaron Beasley is a playmaker, but he has been silent lately with only 9 tackles in his last 3 games.
Game Prediction (H2)
Best case scenario for Tennessee is it finds what helped them defeat Alabama last season in Knoxville. The most likely scenario is Georgia continues to do what it has all season and Carson Beck keeps it going with WRs Ladd McConkey and Dominic Lovett and TE Brock Bowers. Tennessee will have their hands full on Saturday. Georgia has only covered the spread four times this season, but they have hit their groove. The Bulldogs should control this game.
