The Georgia Bulldogs have had to deal with off-the-field incidents many times this season. On Wednesday, head coach Kirby Smart announced that he has suspended wide receiver Colbie Young indefinitely following an arrest.

Georgia Bulldogs Head Coach Kirby Smart Spoke To Colbie Young On Wednesday Morning

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart celebrates with Georgia running back Trevor Etienne (1) during the second half of a NCAA college football game against Auburn in Athens, Ga., on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024.

On Wednesday, Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart announced during an SEC Coaches Teleconference that he spoke to the wide receiver. Smart said:

“I got to speak to him this morning. He’s been suspended indefinitely until this legal matter has resolved. We can’t really comment any further on the specifics of it but had a good meeting with him this morning.”

According to Griffin McVeigh of on3.com:

“Young was arrested on Tuesday morning on two charges, both of which are misdemeanors — battery and then assault on an unborn child. He was arrested by the Athens Clarke County Police at 4:18 a.m. ET and did not get to speak to his head coach until Wednesday morning.”

The Georgia Bulldogs will face the Mississippi State Bulldogs this week before they go on the road and face the number one team in the country the Texas Longhorns the week after. Georgia is currently ranked number five in the nation.

Just put a barbed wire fence around the stadium at this point, and give them 3.5 hours of yard time a week.

By indefinitely he means until they are trailing in a game

It will be interesting to see how this Colbie Young situation plays out with the Georgia Bulldogs. They have had too many of these off-the-field incidents in the past and it is time for the program to start holding them accountable moving forward.
