Kansas City Chiefs took to social media Wednesday to vent following a breaking report that free agent defensive end Frank Clark was being signed by the Seattle Seahawks.

The move made sense for the Seahawks, as Seattle announced their starting pass rusher, Uchenna Nwosu, would be out for the rest of the season due to a torn pectoral that would require surgery.
However, many Chiefs fans hoped they could bring Clark back to Kansas City after the Denver Broncos released him in mid-October. Clark was a member of the Chiefs from the 2019-22 seasons and won two Super Bowls in Kansas City.
Now Clark is heading back to the franchise that drafted him in 2015.
Kansas City Chiefs fans react to missing out on Clark
Clark coming to Kansas City might not have fit the team’s budget in Week 8. According to Over The Cap, the Chiefs have just over $3 million in cap space for the rest of the season. But Chiefs fans were still upset about losing out on Clark.

Frank Clark was supposed to come back to the Chiefs 🙁 now he’ll never get the postseason sack record

I know the Chiefs defense is young and deep, but I would have loved to see Frank Clark added to this team—leadership, security, and playoff production. Cut Justyn Ross and roll deeper at DL. But alas…

Frank Clark: I want to be a starter on the 53-man.
Brett Veach: Best I can do is emergency call up on the practice squad.
