One of the most polarizing players in the 2025 NFL Draft will be Colorado Buffaloes star Travis Hunter. Many are wondering if he will play both cornerback and wide receiver at the next level or not.

Hunter won the Heisman Trophy for Colorado during the 2024 college football season over running back Ashton Jeanty of the Boise State Broncos. Both players are expected to be taking within the first 15 picks of the 2025 NFL Draft. Hunter during the 2024 college football season caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns, along with averaging 13.1 yards per reception. His longest reception was 58 yards. He also had five yards rushing on two carries (2.5 yards per carry) and one touchdown.
Former NFL Quarterback Makes Comments About Colorado Buffaloes Athlete Travis Hunter

Former NFL quarterback Cody Kessler went onto Good Morning Football on NFL Network to discuss whether or not Hunter can play both ways at the next level. Kessler said,
“I don’t know how realistic it is for Travis Hunter to be a true two-way starter every single Sunday for 18 weeks of a season. That is going to be extremely difficult, especially for the longevity of his career. But I’ll tell you this right now, I’m not gonna sit here and doubt him for one second. A lot of people said he couldn’t do it at Colorado or the college level and he went out there and he won a Heisman Trophy.”

On the defensive side of the football, Hunter recorded 35 tackles, 11 pass deflections, one forced fumble, and four pass deflections. The 6’1″ 185 lbs athlete will look to make an impact at the next level. If the Cleveland Browns do not draft him at number two, there is a great chance that the New York Giants will draft him third overall also.
