A former Miami Hurricanes standout was recently sentenced to four years in prison. Per Fox Sports’ Andy Slater, 2016 college standout Mark Walton recently got sentenced after pleading guilty to an armed robbery in Miami.

Walton has had numerous run-ins with the law, dating back to 2019. He got arrested three times during the 2019 offseason for misdemeanor marijuana possession, misdemeanor battery, and fleeing from the police. He also has a misdemeanor weapons charge and was arrested later that year for aggravated battery of a pregnant woman. The Miami native was arrested in 2021 for attempting to break a Pizza Hut window, while he earned another arrest in 2022 for armed robbery.
Mark Walton: Three-Year Career with Miami Hurricanes
Walton, a four-star recruit from Booker T. Washington from Miami, signed with the Hurricanes in 2015. He rushed 130 times for 461 yards and nine scores as a true freshman, including catching 22 passes for 293 yards and another touchdown. Walton broke out during his sophomore season, taking 209 carries for 1,117 yards and 14 touchdowns. The five-foot-nine, 205-pound back started the season with three straight 100-yard rushing games, tallying seven touchdowns during that span.
Walton played only five games as a junior but collected 519 yards and three touchdowns on 63 touches. He showed out against Toledo early in the season, scampering for 204 yards and a score. Walton missed a majority of the season after ankle surgery.
Mark Walton: Short NFL Stint
The Cincinnati Bengals drafted Mark Walton with the 112th overall selection of the 2018 NFL draft. He rushed 14 times for 34 yards as a rookie, appearing in 14 games. The Bengals waived Walton after his third arrest during the 2019 offseason. He signed a contract with the Miami Dolphins shortly after. He rushed 53 times for 201 yards in seven games. His best career game came against the Buffalo Bills in a loss. The former Hurricane ran for a career-best 66 yards on 14 carries. Walton missed times with multiple suspensions before his release.
