Former University of Georgia five star OL & Calhoun County native, Clay Webb, has announced his transfer to the Jacksonville State University Gamecocks. In 2018, after having received an offer from nearly every major program in the country, Webb committed & signed to the Georgia Bulldogs. During his tenure, Webb saw action in five games as a bulldog. Additionally, as a member of Georgia’s 2021 National Championship team, Webb looks to add much needed veteran experience to the Jacksonville State OL.
The Gamecocks, who recently announced they’re joining the ConferenceUSA in Summer 2023 are almost certainly looking to add as many talented transfers as possible. Furthermore, at 6’3 and 297 pounds, Webb has the ideal frame the Gamecocks will need at the Division 1 (FBS) level. New Gamecock head coach Rich Rodriguez, who made his name at FBS mainstays West Virginia, Michigan and Arizona, looks to continue the rich tradition that Jacksonville State has as a FCS powerhouse.
