On Wednesday, college football legend Nick Saban announced his retirement from the Alabama Crimson Tide football program. Former Florida Gators Star quarterback Tim Tebow took time to acknowledge Saban’s storied career as a head coach, posting on Twitter (also known as X) a lengthy goodbye to the seven-time champion.

Former Florida Gators Star Tim Tebow Tips Hat to Nick Saban
On Wednesday, Tebow posted a heartfelt message directed towards Nick Saban, saying, “Through the battles against each other and the years watching you, you’ve adapted, grown, and won so consistently, leading young men through the highs and lows, wins and losses.”
Tebow and Saban first squared off in 2008 during the SEC Championship game. The Florida Gators bested the Crimson Tide 31-20, handing them their first loss of the season. Tebow finished the game 14-of-22 for 216 yards and three touchdowns. He also added 17 carries for 57 yards. Florida beat Sam Bradford and the Oklahoma Sooners in the BCS Championship.
The Gators and Crimson Tide again squared off in the SEC Championship the fowling season, but this time, Saban got the best of Tebow. The 2007 Heisman Trophy Award winner played well, tallying 310 total yards, but Alabama’s Mark Ingram ran wild, accumulating 113 rushing yards and three scores in a 32-13 Alabama win.
Nick Saban: All-Time College Coach
Tebow continued, “You’ve been one of the best, if not the best, to ever do it. What an impact you’ve had on the game. What a legacy you’ll leave on thousands of players and millions of fans. Thanks for being a tough opponent and a tougher coach, championing excellence on and off the field and in the lives of generations to come. Congrats on an amazing career, Coach Saban.”
Saban won seven titles, six with Alabama and one with the LSU Tigers. He presumably finishes his college coaching career with a sparkling 292-71-1 record. Saban won SEC Coach of the Year five times. Saban posted two undefeated seasons during his time in Tuscaloosa. The legendary frontman led the Crimson Tide to the College Football Playoff again this season but lost a heartbreaker to the eventual champion Michigan Wolverines in the semifinals.
