The Philadelphia Eagles had a brutal surprise for the defense on their Week 5 injury report released Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles are preparing for their matchup with the Los Angeles Rams in Week 5.
The Eagles added one member to the defense Tuesday due to an injury on the defense. Bradley Roby will take a spot at cornerback after Avonte Maddox was lost for the season. The Eagles now have a concern with the defensive line this week.
The Philadelphia Eagles placed a star DT on the injury report
According to Mike Garafolo with the NFL Network, Fletcher Cox did not practice Wednesday due to a back injury. It’s the first time Cox has been on the injury report since Week 1 when he was dealing with a rib injury. Cox was able to play in Week 1.
Fletcher Cox a new add to the injury report for the #Eagles. Didn’t practice today because of a back injury. Previously was listed with a rib injury suffered in Week 1 but didn’t miss any game time.

However, back injuries are serious business. The fact Cox didn’t practice Wednesday shows the injury is severe enough for him to potentially miss the Rams game. The Eagles injury report will be something to check on Friday for his game designation in Week 5.
Cox is a major part of the Eagles pass rush. The All-Pro defensive tackle has ten total tackles and .5 sacks this season.
