We are just a week removed from the 2024 NFL draft, which means it’s dynasty rookie draft season. Here, we will look at some of the top sleepers you should be looking to draft for your dynasty teams in 2024.
Dynasty Sleepers
Tyrone Tracy (RB) New York Giants
Tyrone Tracy was selected with the 31st pick in the fifth round by the New York Giants. In 2022, Tracy played wide receiver and running back for the Purdue Boilermakers. During the 2023 season, Tracy transitioned from a wide receiver to a running back. In 2023 Tracy had over 700 rushing yards and eight touchdowns for Purdue.
Tyrone Tracy is expected to play running back in the NFL. Going to the Giants provides Tracy with a great opportunity. After the departure of Saquon Barkley, the Giants signed Devin Singletary as their starting running back. Tracy is listed as the third running back on the Giant’s depth chart but could easily win the number two spot and see quite a bit of playing time in 2024. Currently, Tracy is projected as an early fourth-round pick in dynasty rookie drafts and could be a great late-round dynasty sleeper to add to your team.
Javon Baker (WR) New England Patriots
The New England Patriots selected Javon Baker early in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft. Baker played four years of college football and showed improvement in every season. In 2023 Baker had over 1,100 yards and seven receiving touchdowns.
Going to the Patriots puts Baker in an interesting situation. The Patriots have tried to strike gold with mid-round receivers of the past few seasons which means that the Patriots have lots of young receivers, but not the top talent they are looking for. Baker is listed as a backup receiver for the Patriots but will have chances to show his talent in 2024.
Baker is currently being valued as a mid-third-round pick in dynasty rookie drafts and could be a great receiver to select and stash on your dynasty team for the future.
Spencer Rattler (QB) New Orleans Saints
Spencer Rattler was the seventh quarterback selected in the 2024 NFL draft. Rattler started his college career at Oklahoma but transferred to South Carolina in 2022. Rattler played his final two years of college football with the Gamecocks before declaring for the 2024 NFL draft.
The New Orleans Saints selected Spencer Rattler with the 15th pick in the fifth round. After the departure of Jameis Winston, the Saints needed a backup quarterback. Just judging how Derek Carr played in 2023 there is a chance that Rattler could see some playing time for the Saints in 2024. Rattler is currently being valued as a late fourth-round pick in standard dynasty rookie drafts. He could be a late-round addition who has a chance to be a starting quarterback.
Audric Estime (RB) Denver Broncos
Audric Estime was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL draft. Estime played all three years of his colligate career at the University of Notre Dame. Estime was one of the best running backs in college football last season. In 2023 Estime rushed for over 1,300 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Estime was known for his production and ability to break tackles going into the 2024 draft. He was projected to be one of the top running back prospects, but a slow 40-yard dash pushed him down the board. With Denver’s rookie quarterback, they will likely rely on the run game. With Javonte Williams’s injury history, the only thing in Estime’s way of being the starter is Samaje Perine, who is mainly a pass-catching back.
If Williams goes down, there is a good chance that Estime could get the starting role, which would make him a great steal in dynasty rookie drafts.
Theo Johnson (TE) New York Giants
The New York Giants selected Johnson with the seventh pick in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft. Theo Johnson is the definition of potential. During all four years of college football, Johnson showed flashes of greatness but never lived up to what he was recruited to be.
Johnson showed all the signs of being a great NFL tight end but was not utilized in Penn State’s offense. Johnson is currently listed as the third tight end on the Giants depth chart. Over the past few weeks, there has been lots of talk about Darren Waller retiring. If Waller does retire it would put Johnson in a spot where he could be the Giants starting tight end in 2024.
Johnson is currently being valued as a fourth-round pick in standard dynasty rookie drafts. Getting Johnson in the fourth round would be a steal if he can win the starting role in New York.
