The Houston Texans are taking a chance on four-time Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb, signing him to a one-year contract worth $2.5 million. It’s not much of a gamble for the Texans, given the length and amount of their investment in the now-former Cleveland Browns star tailback, but it’s noteworthy nonetheless.
For Chubb, he returns to his home state, looking to rejuvenate his career with the Texans. Together with Joe Mixon, Chubb forms a notable backfield tandem with the potential to do serious damage on opposing defenses, especially if the former Georgia Bulldogs running back finds his groove again.
For his fresh start in Houston, Chubb has seemingly chosen to go back to his roots when it comes to his jersey number.

Fans react to Nick Chubb’s jersey number

An Instagram post by NFL on ESPN showed a photo of Chubb in a No. 21 jersey while practicing with the Texans. There was also a highlight clip of Chubb running over people on the field for a touchdown during his high school days.
Of course, fans had a lot to say about Chubb’s new jersey number, while others also wished nothing but the best for the running back, as he starts a new journey in the NFL.
“Houston’s jerseys look like highschool jerseys so fits ig”
“Great number! 🙌”
“If only he can return to his high school form.”
“👏🔥 best number ina world”“Bro tryna turn back time 🙌😂”
“Let him cooooook”
“Chubb gonna go crazy , ppl act like these RBs r washed when Kareem hunt proved that ain’t true”
