The Detroit Lions are having a magical run this postseason. They had two home playoff games after not having one for 30 years. Now, they look to continue their run to the Super Bowl and defeat the San Francisco 49ers. To do that, they added a major offensive weapon.
Detroit Lions Sign Zach Ertz
According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Detroit Lions plan to sign TE Zach Ertz. For now, he will start on their practice squad. However, there is a chance Ertz could be elevated to the active roster before the NFC Championship.
Zach Ertz’s 2023 Season
Ertz had a season to forget in 2023. He played for the Arizona Cardinals in just seven games. During those seven games, he had just 187 receiving yards and one touchdown reception. Now, he looks to improve those numbers in the NFC Championship.
Sam LaPorta
This signing is likely insurance in case something happens to Sam LaPorta. He has not been 100% through the playoffs, as he is still fighting through a knee injury. LaPorta has had 12 catches, 79 receiving yards, and one touchdown reception in the previous two playoff games. The Lions hope he can add to those numbers next week.
