The Detroit Lions have a chance to make franchise history on Sunday, beating the heavily favored San Francisco 49ers, thus punching their ticket to the Super Bowl. The Lions last won the conference in 1957, before the AFL-NFL merger. However, just two seasons removed from a three-win season, this year’s rendition of the Detroit Lions have won the division for the first time since 1993 and, behind quarterback Jared Goff, have knocked off the Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the postseason. Detroit, including Goff, has had its fair share of doubters this season, including Fox Sports’ Skip Bayless. However, Goff says anything said by Bayless falls on deaf ears.

Jared Goff: Takes Shot at Skip Bayless
When asked about the importance of “bulletin board material” in the locker room, Goff said, “Depends what it is. What do you got?”
The interviewer brings up a Skip Bayless tweet after last Sunday’s game before being cut off by Goff saying, “Nah, I don’t care about anything he says. You can stop now.” Anything those guys say on daytime TV, you can skip over that.”
Bayless, a long-time American sports columnist and television personality, is known for his frequent hot-takes and laughable opinions. However, Goff suggests that Bayless’ off-the-wall tweets have little impact on the Detroit Lions.
Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff: Phenomenal 2023-24 Postseason
Goff has gone 52 of 70 for 564 yards and three touchdowns during the Lions’ playoff run. He owns a 111.8 quarterback rating, his highest in four postseason appearances. Goff started his career with the Los Angeles Rams, playing five seasons before being dealt to the Detroit Lions. He threw for 19 touchdowns against eight picks during his first season before exploding for 29 touchdowns and seven picks in 2022. The California product finished this regular season with 4,575 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.
Goff looks to return to the Super Bowl after last making it in 2018 with the Rams. However, they fell to the Tom Brady-led New England Patriots, 13-3. Goff struggled, going 19-of-38 for 229 yards and a pick. He got sacked four times.
