Denver Broncos Have an Early Breakout Candidate for 2024 Season, and It’s Not Bo Nix

While most of the attention is on Bo Nix right now, there’s reason enough to believe that Kris Abrams-Draine might have a better campaign for the Denver Broncos this season. According to an NFL analysis, though, the cornerback has what it takes to make that prediction a reality.

Abrams-Draine, a rookie cornerback for the Broncos, has garnered significant praise from Pro Football Focus for his impressive performances early in the season. After being drafted, he quickly established himself as a standout player in the Broncos’ secondary. His ability to read plays and react swiftly has made him a valuable asset for the team’s defense.

PFF highlighted his strong coverage skills, noting that he frequently disrupts opposing receivers and minimizes their opportunities to make big plays. His agility and speed allow him to keep pace with various offensive threats, making it difficult for quarterbacks to target his side of the field. Through meticulous training and determination, Abrams-Draine has shown that he can compete at a high level, even against seasoned veterans.

As the season progresses, the Broncos coaching staff is optimistic about his development. His early success sets a positive tone for his future contributions, and fans are eager to see how he continues to evolve. The Broncos are counting on him to enhance their defensive lineup and help secure victories against tough opponents.

It’s not only PFF that has noticed Abrams-Draine. As it stands, Matt Holder’s breakout candidates for Bleacher Report has also included the emerging Broncos star in his list.

Kris Abrams-Draine is the second rookie to appear in this column and, coincidentally, another fifth-round pick. Like Austin Booker, Abrams-Draine has the makings of someone who will outplay his draft status, especially since B/R’s scouting department gave him a fourth-round grade.

“Abrams-Draine has plenty of upside and has an NFL skill set, but he will need to continue to develop his body,” the Missouri product’s scouting report read. “A high-end developmental player, he has the opportunity to play within the first few years of his career. He may be best suited for a scheme fit, but he does provide some versatility within most defenses.”

With his impressive start, Abrams-Draine is not just making a name for himself. He’s also solidifying his role within the Broncos’ defense for the upcoming season, and the years to come as well.

If he maintains this level of performance, he could become a key player for the team as they strive for success in the competitive landscape of the NFL. His journey is one to watch as he aims to make a lasting impact in his rookie season.
