The Denver Broncos have officially moved on from the Russell Wilson experiment. Their massive trade for Wilson just two years ago did not go as planned. The Broncos effectively cleaned house both player and coaching staff wise, over the last calendar year or so.
However, Denver could be in line for an exciting new era already in 2024.
The Denver Broncos Are Exciting Their Fans Already For 2024
As Bo Nix took the field for his first preseason start on Sunday night, Broncos fans could be heard clear as day.
Fans hope Nix will be the long-awaited answer to their quarterback woes. Sunday night’s performance won’t dampen the excitement.
According to all indications, the Broncos are likely to start Nix at quarterback in the season opener. A quality follow-up to a great preseason opener, the 12th pick of the NFL Draft looked very good against the Green Bay Packers. At this point, it would be shocking if Nix wasn’t named the starter for the first game of the season:
Nix played into the second quarter Sunday. He completed 8 of 9 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown for a robust 140.7 passer rating. After that, it would make no sense for the Broncos to start Jarrett Stidham over Nix. However, we’ll wait on Payton’s official word.
Nix’s numbers would have been better, but a nice play in the first quarter didn’t officially count. Near the goal line, he escaped pressure to his left but kept looking downfield. He found Javonte Williams in the end zone and flipped him a pass for a touchdown.
A replay review showed Nix was over the line of scrimmage when he threw, wiping out the play. He’ll have to work on his awareness, but the play showed off his creativity and talent. The Broncos will take that and not worry too much about a preseason touchdown not counting.
Fans are excited for the Bo Nix era, and they’re making that clear on social media:
We are so back with bo nix!

Yea, Bo Nix is the guy.
I don’t care if it’s preseason. He’s the guy.
All the potential is there. And I’m willing to let him grow as a player through the mistakes.
He’s the guy.

I don’t think Bo Nix is giving this job back, regardless of whether or not he was beyond the line of scrimmage.
