Deion Sanders took the college football world by storm when he became the coach of the Colorado Buffaloes—the first season had mixed results. After starting 3-0, the team lost eight of their last nine games to finish 4-8. Still, there was something that Colorado fans hadn’t felt for a long time: hope. Going into 2024, Sanders revealed his new mindset for the program.
Deion Sanders Reveals New Mindset For Colorado Buffaloes
Sanders went on Robert Griffin III‘s podcast and talked about the mindset for 2024. “We implemented hope. Now, there’s expectation,” Sanders said. “We’re going from hope to expectation.” There definitely are expectations. Colorado has fielded one of the top transfer portal classes in the nation. Sanders has also landed some top recruits in the 2024 cycle. They will likely have a preseason Heisman candidate in Shedeur Sanders and/or Travis Hunter. The expectation is the team will improve drastically.
Can They Live Up To Expectations?
This is the million-dollar question. The good news for the program is that while they went 4-8 last year, they were in many of the games. While there were a couple of blowouts, many of the games came down to one possession. With an improved offensive line, the offense should be more efficient. The program does move to the Big 12, but there is a void at the top with Texas and Oklahoma leaving for the SEC. If all of this talent gels, this could be a dangerous team.
Deion Sanders has his hands full with the Colorado Buffaloes. All eyes are on this program, and it will be interesting to see whether they can improve on their 2023 season.
