Deion Sanders has been transforming the Colorado Buffaloes through the transfer portal this season. The program already has a top transfer portal class and Sanders is continuing to add to it. Former Arkansas Razorbacks defensive lineman Taurean Carter has committed to the program.

Deion Sanders, Colorado Buffaloes Land DL Taurean Carter
Carter was originally committed to SMU but flipped to Colorado. The 6-foot-3, 300-pound has racked up 60 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and two pass breakups. He joins a long list of defensive linemen that Sanders has landed in the portal. Houston’s Chidozie Nwankwo, Alabama’s Anquin Barnes, LSU’s Quency Wiggins, and Pittsburgh’s Samuel Okunlola have all committed to the program in the offseason. Sanders saw the problems with this team last year and wants to make sure they are fixed for 2024.
2024 Outlook
Sanders has made it very clear that he expects Colorado to compete in 2024. The program moves to the Big 12 which includes a lot of winnable games. Texas and Oklahoma are headed to the SEC so there is a power vacuum at the top of the conference. Sanders is hoping that with Shedeur Sanders at quarterback and all of the transfer portal talent coming in, the team can compete for a conference title.
Will all of this talent translate into wins? It certainly won’t hurt but Sanders and his staff have some work to do in order to make sure this team is ready to win in 2024.
