Deion Sanders has been one of the most polarizing figures in college football this season.
After taking over the Colorado Buffaloes program that had won just a single game the year before, Sanders built a new roster through the transfer portal and cranked out four wins, while his team remained competitive in a handful of its other contests.
Love him or hate him, the former NFL star has created a buzz around the University that hasn’t been there in more than a decade.
Deion Sanders Course Being Offered By University Of Colorado
There isn’t a better self-marketer in all of sports, and now the University of Colorado is giving students an option to take a legitimate course to learn the magic beyond Sanders’ tactics.

“The course will focus on helping college athletes explore how to manage their time in college, prepare for career, manage their celebrity, identify when best to speak into their profit center, advocate for worthy causes, coordinate with sports agents and how to interact with journalists and the media,” the school writes in the course description.
People across college football have already been studying Deion Sanders’ bold approach when it comes to marketing himself and his program, so maybe this shouldn’t be a big surprise.
In his first season as the head coach of the Buffaloes, Sanders led the program to a 3-0 start and garnered the attention of the college football world. Sanders took advantage of the media attention to raise the profile of the school, and he sold some Blenders sunglasses in the process.
Is Deion Sanders Changing College Football?
It sure feels like Sanders’ bold approach and unapologetic attitude when it comes to rebuilding his program is working.
He’s made massive strides on the recruiting trail and made Colorado one of the go-to destinations for some of the top talent in college football.
As On3, noted, less than a week ago, “Coach Prime” went on a media blitz telling several outlets that he was confident in Colorado’s ability to land multiple offensive linemen from the transfer portal.
“I am in the portal like like I’m not hard to find, I’m not hard to find and guess what I’m finding? Lineman!” Sanders said on the Dan LeBatard Show with Stugotz.
“You guys watched us play what did you say, if they had some of those guys, they would be right there guess what today is—portal day and I’m going get those things you said I need.”
Well, the Buffs exited the first weekend of the 2024 Transfer Portal window with a herd of new linemen — potentially a brand new starting five. After his latest five-star stunner by beating out Ohio State, Alabama and Tennessee for the nation’s No. 1 offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, Sanders then plucked four veteran offensive linemen from the transfer portal.
Whatever he’s doing appears to be working. Now if you happen to be a student at Colorado, you have the opportunity to learn everything about Deion Sanders’ approach to changing the game.
