Deion Sanders made a massive announcement Monday morning after the Colorado Buffaloes received several much-needed recruits over the previous several days. The Buffaloes had a rough start on the recruiting trail following their 4-8 season.
The Buffaloes landed a few offensive linemen for the 2024 season. Fixing the offensive line was a point of emphasis for the Buffaloes staff after their play likely cost the team a bowl appearance in Sanders’ first season in Boulder.
The Buffaloes were in the mid-60s in recruiting when December began. According to 24/7 Sports, Colorado is ranked 27th in recruiting for the 2024 season. They have the first-ranked class for incoming transfers.
Sanders faced challenges in trying to get players to join the Buffaloes program after their collapse in the second half of the season. The second-year head coach deserves respect for turning around the Buffaloes’ fortune at this point in December.
Deion Sanders makes an announcement about the 2024 class
Sanders took to X on Monday morning to announce his plans for recruiting over the next week. He hinted that the Buffaloes would add more help on the offense. Sanders said the defense would focus on improving the defensive line next week. (Warren Sapp is joining the Colorado coaching staff for next season.):
“I’m so thankful for all the recruits that’s Committed & Submitted to this Program, the parents of the young men & our staff! Wow, what a week but guess what, we’re gonna drop a few more DOGGS on ya offensively & then this weekend the Defense gets all the FOCUS. Especially Them SAPPS!”

Coach Prime should have one of the best recruiting classes in Colorado’s new conference for 2024, the Big 12. The Buffaloes are ranked as the second-best class in the Big 12 behind Texas Tech. This vital recruiting week could be Sanders’ best chance to push the Buffaloes into the expanded playoffs next season.
