Deion Sanders continues to work his transfer portal magic for the Colorado Buffaloes. The program has already landed a plethora of talent out of the transfer portal and Sanders was at it again this weekend. Former Oklahoma State cornerback DJ McKinney announced he is committing to the Buffaloes.

Deion Sanders, Colorado Buffaloes Land CB DJ McKinney
McKinney was a redshirt freshman this past year and had a solid season. He had 38 tackles and five pass breakups this season. It isn’t a surprise that he picked Colorado. Sanders and defensive backs coach Kevin Mathis have a lot of NFL experience meaning McKinney is going to get some top-tier coaching. Many programs were in the mix for McKinney but he ultimately decided to go with the Buffaloes.
Top 5 Class
According to On3, the Buffaloes have the second-ranked transfer portal class in the country. McKinney is the 20th player to commit to the program from the transfer portal. They are just a smidge behind the Louisville Cardinals in the rankings but I doubt that Sanders is done landing players. While there has been criticism of his high school recruiting, there is no doubt that Sanders can land talent from the portal.
Can the Buffaloes make some noise in 2024? Sanders is thinking they can and with all of this talent coming in, the program should be able to win some games next season.
