Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper was severely punished byby the NFL on Tuesday evening. Tepper has had a long season, and his temper got the best of him during the Panthers’ loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 18.
The Panthers’ loss to the Jaguars handed the Chicago Bears the number-one pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Panthers traded with the Bears last offseason so they could draft Bryce Young. The team regressed after drafting Young and hiring Head coach Frank Reich. Reich was fired midseason.
Those must be some of the reasons for Tepper’s irritation on Sunday afternoon when a video went virval of him throwing liquid into a crowd of Jaguars fans.

The NFL fines the Carolina Panther’s owner
It’s unclear if Tepper will be charged with assult or battery. However, the NFL handed one punishment to Tepper before a potential legal situation unfolds. According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, the league fined Tepper $300,000 for the incident in Jacksonville. Tepper released a statement Tuesday:
“I am deeply passionate about this team and regret my behavior on Sunday. I should have let NFL stadium security handle any issues that arose. I respect the NFL’s code of conduct and accept the League’s discipline for my behavior.”

Tepper appears to shift the blame towards the crowd in his statement, as he states he should have let the league’s security handle whatever was going on before the viral clip.
Tepper has a lot of regrets right now. Will he learn from them?
