Davante Adams Just Revealed What 4x NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers Is Really Waiting For

There are few people that know former Green Bay Packers and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers than his favorite wide receiver, Davante Adams. The three-time First Team All-Pro set numerous Packers franchise records with Rodgers as his quarterback in Green Bay, and put up great numbers with him after he was traded to the Jets midway through the 2024 NFL season.

Aside from their obvious chemistry on the field, though, the two are great friends off of it. Unfortunately, their time playing together has, once again, come to an end as both were released by New York after the season. But while Adams has found a new home with the Los Angeles Rams, Rodgers remains a free agent.

Four-Time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers Is Still a Free Agent

As everyone is well-aware, Rodgers is still a free agent right now because of his own decisions, or lack there of, in this case. After the 2024 season ended, the Jets hired Aaron Glenn as their new head coach and Darren Mougey as their new general manager.

Both informed Rodgers that they did not want him back in 2025, and the four-time NFL MVP had some pretty strong thoughts about his meeting with them, which he shared during his latest appearance on the Pat McAfee Show.

But the fact of the matter is that, if he really wanted, Rodgers would already be on an NFL team. The Pittsburgh Steelers have not made any secret of the fact that they want the future Pro Football Hall of Famer to be their starting quarterback.

And while Rodgers has met with them at their facility, and while he has had a private workout with DK Metcalf, Pittsburgh’s newly acquired two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, he has not signed on the dotted line.

    But why?

Davante Adams Says Aaron Rodgers Is Waiting for Someone to Make Him Feel Wanted

As mentioned, very few people know Rodgers as well as Adams, who is an exclusive member of what the former MVP quarterback calls his inner circle. And Adams, according to NFL insider Michael Silver, says that Rodgers just wants to feel wanted.

    Per the report:

“Adams told Silver that Rodgers is looking for a team to truly make him feel wanted, after a disastrous ending to his tenure with the New York Jets.

“I think Aaron wants someone to roll out the red carpet for him,” Silver said during an episode of the Scoop City podcast with Dianna Russini and Chase Daniel. “That is what he is looking for. I’m not sure if he would consider the Steelers doing that right now. I’m not positive how Aaron perceives that or how the Steelers perceive that. The Vikings clearly aren’t.

“It felt to me, Aaron, based on what Davante said, would love to be swept off his feet,” Silver said. “He’s a four-time MVP, he’s one of the greatest ever to spin it. I would understand why Aaron would want to feel that level of intensity before he jumps in.”

In other words, Rodgers wants the Steelers, or any NFL team, to make him feel special.

What is confusing about this is that the Steelers let both of their top quarterbacks from 2024, Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, walk in free agency. While every other NFL team has decided to move ahead without contacting Rodgers, Pittsburgh has made him a priority.

    What more does he want?
