The Indianapolis Colts had a disappointing season. However, Colts fans received some positive news Tuesday morning. Rookie cornerback Dallis Flowers was named the kick returner on the Pro Football Writers of America’s 2022 all-rookie team.
Dallis Flowers Impact
Dallis Flowers stepped into the role of returner during the Colt’s week 12 game. Dallis Flowers recorded kickoff returns of 48 yards, 49 yards, and 89 yards. Flowers came from Pittsburg State where he played on special teams. Flowers also played corner at Pittsburg State. Flowers was a great special teams player in college and brought his play style to Indianapolis.
Flowers led the NFL in kickoff yards per return (31.1) and finished with 715 kickoff return yards. Flowers returned 23 kickoffs during the 2022 season.
Colts Special Teams
The Indianapolis Colts have one of the best special teams units in the NFL. Special teams coordinator Bubba Ventrone is a respected coach who gets his players ready to play. With Ventrone’s guidance, Flowers can continue to produce on special teams.
