In the latest 2024 NFL Mock Draft, Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports has the Dallas Cowboys taking wide receiver Xavier Worthy with the 24th overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft. Worthy played college football for Texas so the Cowboys scouts are very familiar with him.
He was a junior a season ago and is 6’1″ and weighs 172 lbs. Xavier Worthy last season for the Texas Longhorns caught 75 passes for 1,014 yards receiving and five touchdowns, along with averaging 13.5 yards per catch. He would be the best available wide receiver in this spot.
Ladd McConkey, Georgia Bulldogs
McConkey was a junior last season for Georgia and has been climbing up draft boards. He was going to be a second-round pick and now Ladd McConkey is going to find his way to being drafted into the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft whether the Dallas Cowboys draft him or not.
He caught 30 passes for 478 yards receiving and two touchdowns last season for the Georgia Bulldogs. McConkey averaged 15.9 yards per reception. He also rushed for 38 yards on two carries and one touchdown and averaged 19,0 yards per carry.
Adonai Mitchell, Texas Longhorns
Mitchell was the second wide receiver on a talented Texas Longhorns roster a season ago behind Xavier Worthy. Texas was a college football playoff team and lost to the Washington Huskies in the final seconds in the college football playoff semifinals.
The Dallas Cowboys scouting department is also familiar with Mitchell. Last season with the Longhorns, he caught 55 passes for 845 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns, along with averaging 15.4 yards per carry. Adonai Mitchell averaged 15.4 yards per reception as a junior for the Texas Longhorns. He is also a talented wide receiver who will be drafted in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
