On Tuesday, the Dallas Cowboys finally made their first move in free agency. While names like Derrick Henry, Shaq Barrett, and Aaron Jones signed with new teams, Dallas agreed to terms with last season’s long snapper, Trent Sieg. Cowboys fans and social media as a whole are perplexed by the team’s lack of moves while the best free agents in football continue to land new deals.
Dallas was reportedly in the running for running backs Zack Moss and Derrick Henry, but sources close to the team reveal that the price for either back was deemed ‘too steep’ for the NFC East club. However, This financial strategy has consequences, as Dallas has seen the departure of several key starters from the 2023 season, including running back Tony Pollard and defensive end Dorance Armstrong Jr.
NFL Social Media Reacts: Dallas Cowboys Surprisingly Inactive
Cowboys fans are letting it known that they are unpleased with their team’s lack of activity during the early days of free agency. Their fans have taken to social media in disgust over their club sitting on their hands. At the same time, their division rivals, specifically the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles, continue to improve their roster by adding veteran players. The NFL world has taken a more light-hearted approach, poking fun at the Dallas Cowboys for their uninspiring first few days of free agency.

Dallas Cowboys: Pass on Henry, Moss
On Monday night, the Cincinnati Bengals inked former Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss to a two-year, $8 million deal. According to Dallas Cowboys insider Michael Gehlken, the organization passed on Moss after his price “extended past their comfort point.” Meanwhile, early reports indicate the Cowboys bowed out of the Derrick Henry sweepstakes due to his asking price. The former two-time NFL rushing leader signed a two-year, $16 million deal with the Baltimore Ravens.
Dallas also watched their 2023 starting running back, Tony Pollard, walk in free agency. Pollard signed a three-year, $24 million deal with the Tennessee Titans. The Washington Commanders added former Cowboys center Tyler Bladasz and defensive end Dorance Armstrong Jr. via free agency.
