The Dallas Cowboys have yet to make a move that the fans have liked this offseason and one of the names on the trade market is Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. After the Bengals decided to place the franchise tag on Higgins, he decided to request a trade.
Higgins has the talent to be a top-tier wide receiver on another team, but he is also an excellent number-two wide receiver. One of Dallas’s biggest offseason needs is another wide receiver to complement CeeDee Lamb.
Brandin Cooks and Michael Gallup were the second and third wide receivers on the roster a season ago, but Higgins would be a massive upgrade over both of them instantly. Tee Higgins is only 25 years old.
Last season with the Bengals, he did miss some time due to injury but caught 42 passes for 656 yards receiving and five touchdowns, along with averaging 15.6 yards per reception. Higgins was targeted 76 times last season.
The Dallas Cowboys Should Trade the 24th Overall Pick in the 2024 NFL Draft For Tee Higgins
Dallas will own the 24th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. One of the needs they need this offseason is another wide receiver. Higgins is a better player at the position than someone in the 2024 NFL Draft. They have not been drafting wide receivers well as of late other than CeeDee Lamb.
Quarterback Dak Prescott needs another reliable weapon to throw to. Bringing in Higgins would mean that teams would maybe have to stop double-teaming CeeDee Lamb. Lamb last season for the Dallas Cowboys caught 135 passes for 1,749 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns. He averaged 13.0 yards per catch and also was targeted 181 times in that offense.
There have been a lot of complaints by the Cowboys fanbase so far this offseason for not making any major splashes. Trading for wide receiver Tee Higgins for the 24th overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft would make Cowboys fans very happy.
A receiving core of Lamb and Higgins would be one of the better duos in the NFL. They still would need to address the running back position, the offensive line, and the defensive line as well during the 2024 NFL Draft.
