It’s time for the NFL playoffs. The top has risen, leaving some surprised that their team made it and the others surprised that their team didn’t. The Dallas Cowboys Playoff Preview will outline what to expect this week. The Dallas Cowboys are coming in with their typical inconsistency, so this should make for an interesting playoff. Dallas is favored to win, but surprises aren’t rare. While they should be able to take a victory over Tampa Bay, Dallas will have to rise to the occasion. GridironHeroics previews all of the NFL teams that open postseason play, and we’ll continue it through the entire playoffs.

    NFL TEAM: Dallas Cowboys
    2022-23 RECORD: (12-5)
WEEKEND OPPONENT: Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Monday, 8:15 P.M. (ET)
NFL WEEK ONE POSTSEASON SCHEDULE: Who is playing where and when?
TRENDING?: The Dallas Cowboys have been accused of only rising to the occasion when necessary. If you’re a fan, that may be ok with you since it has gotten them this far. They are definitely favored to win so they should be able to do more than just scoot by. However, Prescott’s interceptions have been the topic of conversation for a while. Maybe he will end his streak this week.
WHAT IS GOING RIGHT?: Overall, the Cowboys seem to work well under pressure. They also have a strong defense, which is much stronger than Tampa Bay’s. They also have a strong offense if all of their key players play up to their ability.
WHAT IS GOING WRONG?: They gotta run the ball, obviously. Dak Prescott has been way to comfortable throwing interceptions. They are also incredibly inconsistent. You don’t really ever know what you’re going to get. While this keeps us on our toes, it isn’t necessarily the way to the Superbowl. You can’t play like a Superbowl team one week and a high school team the next. Unless you do, I guess. But let’s stop doing that.

Tony Pollard for the Dallas Cowboys Playoffs

SURPRISE STAR THIS WEEKEND?: Tony Pollard is likely to show out. He has been one of the most consistent players and this is the time to make it count. I think that he will be a huge determining factor in the outcome of this Dallas Cowboys playoff.
THE KEY MATCHUP THIS WEEKEND?: Dak Prescott and Tom Brady for sure. Dak has to lay off the interceptions when matched up with Brady. It is likely he will though. He can’t continue the streak forever.
THE SUMMARY: Dallas should have no problem beating Tampa Bay. However, should is the key word. It will likely come down to Dak’s interceptions and if Brady is on his A-game. If the Cowboys can walk out as the team that they have shown they can be, there shouldn’t be a problem.
    THE PICK: Dallas by 6.
WHY?: Dallas has a stronger defense and a very strong offensive ability to blow them away, that is if they play like they should. There is also a lot of momentum for Dallas to beat Brady. The Cowboys have never defeated Brady and I think this could very well be the time.
