The Dallas Cowboys are reeling, facing a four-touchdown deficit midway through the third quarter against the Green Bay Packers. Dallas entered as more than a touchdown favorite and the winners of the hyper-competitive NFC East but posted a dud in the first half of their home matchup against the seventh-seeded Packers. Former Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson, a mainstay of the Fox broadcasting crew, took exception to his old team’s performance on Sunday. During the program’s halftime show, Johnson ripped the Cowboys, calling the franchise out for their poor performance.

Former Dallas Cowboys HC Jimmy Johnson: Rips Cowboys for Abysmal 1st Half
Jimmy Johnson let the Cowboys have it when asked what he would say to the team if he were in the locker room at halftime. Johnson said, “I can’t say what I would say now on television, but I’ll just say this. Every single one of you, you know how hard we’ve worked. I don’t need people pointing the finger, one thing or another; you get your rear end in there, and you play how you know how to play.”
Johnson coached the Cowboys from 1989 to 1993, winning two Super Bowls and AP NFL Coach of the Year. Johnson is part of the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor. The franchise has won just one Super Bowl (1995) since Johnson’s departure.
Johnson continued, “We can win the game. We are going to open it up. We are going to go fast tempo. Defense, get after Jordan Love. You can’t give him that much time. You do what you’re supposed to do, and we will win this game.”
Love dominated during the first half, completing 13 of 16 passes while linking up with wideout Romeo Doubs for 100 yards. Running back Aaron Jones also rushed for two scores.
Cowboys: Trail Big After Three Quarters
The Cowboys are in danger of falling in the first round of the NFL postseason. Dallas and quarterback Dak Prescott entered the season under pressure to win in the playoffs, but it will likely be another first-round exit. Head coach Mike McCarthy could be on the chopping block with a loss.
