Back in 2022, Alexandra Davis accused Jerry Jones of being her biological father. Years after, the court has now ordered the Dallas Cowboys owner to take a paternity test to prove whether the 27-year old woman is his child or not.
According to Davis, she pursued this claim to remove any doubt that Jones was her father. Meanwhile, the latter’s camp has asked the court to dismiss the suit but did not address the paternity claim when it first came out almost two years ago.
Davis’ lawsuit alleges that Jones had a relationship with his mother, Cynthia Davis, a ticket counter agent for American Airlines in Little Rock, Arkansas. Alexandra was then born in 1996.
According to court documents, Davis and her mother agreed on a settlement in which the Cowboys’ owner provided support on the condition that they didn’t identify him as the father.
Jones has been married to his wife, Gene, since 1963. The couple has three children working for the team in front office roles. Meanwhile, Jones is also the team president and general manager of the Cowboys, a team that just suffered a disastrous loss to the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs.
Court Orders Dallas Cowboys Jerry Jones To Take Paternity Test
Just recently, a court ordered Jones to take a paternity test to prove whether he is the father of Davis or not. Kris Hayes, Davis’ lawyer, confirmed the ruling in a report by CBS:
“Today was a huge victory for many families,” said attorney Kris Hayes, who is representing Davis. “(The judge’s) ruling proves that being a rich, powerful person does not mean you are above the law. Alex no longer has to hide her truth and hopefully she will get the peace she has always deserved. Alex is a shining star and deserves to be recognized as such.”
Meanwhile, Jones’ camp has been sought out for comment about the matter. The Dallas Cowboys owner has not released a statement or any update about the court’s recent ruling.
