Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was the best player on the offense a season ago other than quarterback Dak Prescott. One of the biggest stories this offseason for Dallas has been Lamb not showing up to the offseason workouts with training camp next season.
He has yet to receive a contract extension from the Cowboys. CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott are both in the final year of their contracts. Micah Parsons will also need one soon. Those three players are the most important players to this football team.
There will be high expectations this season for Dallas. They will also need more help in the offense other than Lamb catching passes. Opposing defenses knew last season that he would get the ball for this offense and yet they couldn’t stop him.
It was one of the reasons why Dallas finished with a 12-5 record and won the NFC East. They were the two-seed before they fell in the NFC Wild Card Game against the Green Bay Packers a season ago.
Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb Moves Up In the Top 100 Players List Entering the 2024 NFL Season According To An NFL Analyst
Last season, Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was ranked 48th in the Top NFL 100 by CBS Sports. Entering this NFL season, he is ranked 21st. Only Ja’Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals (13), Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings (7), and Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins (4) are ranked of Lamb at the wide receiver position.
CBS Sports Pete Frisco said about the Cowboys stud wideout:
“He led the NFL with 135 receptions last season, cementing his place among the elite of the league. He also had 12 touchdown catches, the best of his career. He’s a true No. 1 receiver.”
To go along with his 135 receptions last season with the Dallas Cowboys, he had 1,749 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns, along with averaging 13.0 yards per catch. Lamb was targeted 181 times last season. He also rushed for 113 yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns, along with averaging 8.1 yards per rush.
Lamb was the 17th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma. At 25 years old, he has transitioned into one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. He could also climb up the rankings for next year if an encore occurs in 2024.
Lamb has gotten better every single year he has been in the league. In 2022, he had 1,359 yards receiving. It would not be a surprise if he has over 1,800 yards receiving in 2024 or close to it.
