The Colts begin their preseason campaign against the Buffalo Bills on August 13. Indy’s starters will play a little against Buffalo and Frank Reich said Matt Ryan will play a quarter. Rookies and players on the bubble will play as well. The game kicks off at 4 p.m. eastern time at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York.
Colts’ All-Pro linebacker Shaquille Leonard won’t play as he continues to recover from back surgery. Fans can see how Bobby Okereke, Zaire Franklin, and other inexperienced linebackers mesh together in Gus Bradley’s new-look defense. Fans can also see how wide receiver Alec Pierce plays in his NFL debut. Rookie tight end Andrew Ogletree has impressed during camp and has an opportunity to show his talent. The spotlight will be on new quarterback Matt Ryan which should be fun.
Even though it’s the preseason and Josh Allen won’t play the game should be good. Both teams are talented and have good football players on their rosters. Buffalo is a well-coached and physical football team. Hopefully, the Colts can prove they are more physical and play a clean football game. A win will help Indy build positive momentum throughout the preseason.
