Colorado football had a largely successful 2024 campaign that will end in an appearance at a top bowl game. Two years removed from a one-win season and fresh off a 4-8 crusade, the Colorado Buffaloes finished fourth in the Big 12, won nine games, and house the likely Heisman Trophy Award winner, two-way superstar Travis Hunter. Although sportsbooks list Hunter as a massive favorite, fans, pundits, and even mascots are not sold on his historic season.
On Thursday, the mascot for the Oregon Ducks, also known as “The Duck,” appeared on the Pat McAfee Show, taking a shot at Hunter, claiming “snaps ain’t a stat though.” Colorado football’s Deion Sanders Jr., the son of head coach Deion Sanders and brother of star quarterback Shedeur Sanders, clapped back at the Big Ten mascot. Meanwhile, college football fans took aim at Sanders Jr. for picking a battle with said mascot.
Colorado Football Media Member Put On Blast For Chirping Mascot
According to Deion Sanders Jr. on Twitter:
Y’all are the #1 in the nation & y’all whooped our (expletive) last year… why tf is bro on there worried about us? (Expletive) weird as hell.
On Thursday, the Oregon Ducks mascot made headlines for taking a shot at Colorado football WR/DB Travis Hunter and his Heisman Trophy Campaign. Hunter, the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and first-team conference member on both sides, recorded 92 receptions, 1,152 yards, 14 receiving touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, 32 tackles, 11 passes defended, and three interceptions. He remains the odds-on favorite to win the Heisman Trophy Award for his standout performances on offense and defense.
However, the Oregon Duck mascot, “The Ducks,” went viral on social media for his criticism of Hunter, catching the attention of Deion Sanders Jr., the son of Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders. Nevertheless, many sided with the mascot, and not Sanders Jr., following his rebuttal, claiming Boise State superstar running back Ashton Jeanty, and not Hunter, should win the Heisman:
You do realize you are trying to argue with a duck, correct? 😭😭😭

Jeanty should win the Heisman though.
Doesn’t mean Hunter isn’t good.
