Despite an unprecedented amount of press and hype leading into the 2023 season, the Colorado football program is fresh off a brutal 4-8 season, including posting a 1-8 record in conference play. However, they return star quarterback Shedeur Sanders, the son of head coach Deion Sanders, after throwing for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns against three interceptions. Unfortunately for Sanders and company, a leader on their defense has darted for the transfer portal with their annual spring game on the horizon.
According to Hayes Fawcett of On3Sports, the Colorado football team has lost defensive lineman Chazz Wallace to the transfer portal. Wallace is one of three big names who entered the portal on Monday thus far. Alongside Wallace, the Georgia Bulldogs lost running back Andrew Paul to the portal. Meanwhile, Texas Longhorns offensive lineman Payton Kirkland is out in Austin.
