Colorado has gotten off to a shaky start to its season. They hardy beat FCS North Dakota in Week One and then headed to Nebraska in Week Two, where they were destroyed 28-10.
Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders was unhappy after the game on Saturday. He ripped his offensive line and stated how many times Railoa was touched, referring to Nebraska quarterback Dylan Railoa, who was having a great day behind his offensive line.
Sanders didn’t seem to want to take the blame for the loss but instead put it on his teammates, and one of the best college quarterbacks of all time, Johnny Manziel, wasn’t having it.
Johnny Manziel Rips Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders
The former Heisman-winning quarterback stated on the podcast BBOC: College Sports Betting Picks And Strategy, “If I was an O-lineman at Colorado, I’d be absolutely pissed. I mean, I really just don’t see how you do this. I don’t see how you come and throw your own guys under the bus that you’re working with. Grinding with every single week. Week in and week out.”
It’s safe to say that Manziel is not thrilled with Sanders throwing his teammates under the bus. Manziel has been called out for his leadership style when he was playing ten years ago and the former Texas A&M star is trying to give some advice to Sanders so he doesn’t go down the same road he went down.
Maziel has grown up a lot in the past few years and didn’t say anything wrong about Sanders attacking his teammates. If you want to question your offensive line, do it in the locker room behind closed doors, but speaking about it after the game to the media is wrong, and that’s how you get teammates to quit on you.
If he wants to play on Sundays, Sanders has a lot of growing up to do because throwing your teammates under the bus in the NFL will not work.
