The Colorado Buffaloes are going into 2024 with high expectations. Deion Sanders brought in one of the top transfer portal classes in the country, and his son, Shedeur Sanders, is returning as the quarterback. In a recent interview, he made a bold statement about where he ranks in college football.
Colorado Buffaloes Shedeur Sanders Makes Bold Statement
Shedeur Sanders on 2024 NFL Draft:
"I’m biased, but I don’t see a quarterback that’s better than me.
I don’t see a QB that went through as much adversity as me, that had 4 different OCs in 4 years. Coming from an HBCU, coming to a Power Five, having real pressure on me.

Sports Illustrated’s Brice Butler sat down with Sanders. He had a lot of thoughts as to why he is best prepared to take the college football world by storm.
“I’m biased, but I don’t see a quarterback that’s better than me. I don’t see a quarterback that went through as much adversity as me, that had four different OCs in four years. Coming from an HBCU, coming to a Power Five [program], having real pressure on me. A lot of people don’t understand, that’s a lot more adversity than you think, just even being the son of Deion Sanders. You put any of those guys in [my] situation, they’re not doing that.
“But I respect their game. I respect what they’re doing because to be able to be a first-round draft pick, to be able to have success on the field, it takes a lot of hard work and determination and everything. And they’ve got different challenges they go through. But the most pressure and the safest bet is me.”
Sanders has gone through much adversity in changing programs, and yet he has stayed productive.
Does He Have A Point?

NFL Draft Buzz does have Sanders ranked as the number-one quarterback in next year’s class. Quinn Ewers could give him a run for his money, but overall, he could be the best quarterback. He struggled last year mostly because of his offensive line. Sanders was constantly under pressure, and it hindered his numbers. This year, he needs to prove he can win the big games if he has a cleaner pocket.
There are big expectations for the Colorado Buffaloes next season. Can they make it to the College Football Playoff in 2024?
