It’s no secret that Colorado Buffaloes star Shedeur Sanders is going to a hot pick in next year’s NFL draft. The thing is, his stock is getting a boost after sports analyst Skip Bayless called him the best quarterback in the country.
Sanders began his college career at Jackson State University in 2021. He was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Freshman of the Year and won the Jerry Rice Award as the most outstanding freshman in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision. These accolades made him the first player from a historically black college or university (HBCU) to do so.
In his sophomore season, Sanders continued his impressive performance, completing 70.6% of his pass attempts for 3,732 yards with 40 touchdowns and six interceptions. He was named the SWAC Offensive Player of the Year and awarded the Deacon Jones Trophy as the nation’s top HBCU player.
After the 2022 Celebration Bowl, Sanders entered the NCAA transfer portal and joined his father, Deion Sanders, at the University of Colorado. He was immediately named the Buffaloes’ starting quarterback and made an impact in his first game, completing 38 of 47 pass attempts for a school-record 510 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-42 win over 17th-ranked TCU.
Sanders’ college career has been marked by his exceptional passing abilities and impressive accolades, showcasing his potential as a talented quarterback at the collegiate level.

Even though he hasn’t played at the professional level yet, Sanders is drawing a lot of raves from the media and fans alike. Just recently, sports analyst Skip Bayless called the Buffaloes star the country’s best QB in a video shared by Undisputed’s official X account.

Bayless took things further by claiming the Sanders will go first in next year’s NFL Draft. He added that the Colorado star is a seasoned and experienced quarterback at the college level who can lead his team to a Big 12 title.
It remains to be seen whether Bayless’ take will still be valid once Sanders reaches the NFL. Nevertheless, a lot of fans will keep a close eye on him to see if the Undisputed host’s claim will age well with time.
