The Colorado Buffaloes had a glaring weakness this previous season and that was at the offensive line. Coach Deion Sanders did a great job at going out and recruiting talents to bolster the offensive line and protect his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
However, the top offensive tackle in the class Jordan Seaton is not signing with a school on Wednesday after publicly announcing he was joining the Colorado Buffaloes. Since then, multiple programs have contacted him today and has made him assess the situation.

Seaton was crystal balled to join the Maryland Terrapins today but there will be an announcement of where he will begin his collegiate career on Wednesday. He publicly announced on Undisputed less than two weeks ago that he was committing with the Colorado Buffaloes but that has fallen through. That is how recruiting works as players will change their minds but the nation’s best offensive tackle prospect still has not made his decision.
This does not mean necessarily he will be leaving the Colorado Buffaloes but instead that he has not made his decision as of yet.
How important would Jordan Seaton be for the Colorado Buffaloes?
The Colorado Buffaloes were not too good at keeping the quarterback upright as the team allowed 56 total sacks in 12 games (4.7 sacks per game) on top of countless pressures. Jordan Seaton would not be the only answer for the Buffs but would have been a great addition to build the offensive line in Boulder.
Despite the offensive line issues, Shedeur Sanders was 298-of-430 (69.3 completion percentage) for 3,230 yards with 27 passing touchdowns to three interceptions. However, you were able to see he was breaking down towards the end of the season due to the constant abuse he was taking from a lackluster offensive line.
This Colorado team has high expectations after winning four games in Deion Sanders’ first year with the program but heading to the Big 12 Conference next year is going to be tough. They need some improvement in the trenches and locking down Seaton should be their top priority right now.
Why did Jordan Seaton de-commit from the Colorado Buffaloes?
While we do not have a definitive answer at this time, there is one logical explanation: money. Some program or programs likely enticed Seaton with Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) money that caused him to reconsider and essentially create a free agency of sorts for the top offensive tackle prospect in this high school class.
