The Colorado Buffaloes and Deion Sanders have been nailing the transfer portal this offseason. They have had many players commit giving them one of the top classes in the nation. However, the Buffaloes learned a lesson today that even with a verbal commitment, nothing is set in stone. Florida State linebacker DJ Lundy announced he is withdrawing from the transfer portal and returning to the Seminoles spurning Colorado.

DJ Lundy Decides To Return To Seminoles; Spruns Colorado Buffaloes
Lundy announced on Christmas Day that he would be joining Deion Sanders’ squad in Boulder. He had a change of heart a couple of weeks later and will now return to Florida State. The Seminoles get back a very talented linebacker. He played in all 13 games tallying 48 tackles, with 1.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble. Sanders will now have to go back to the drawing board for the linebacker room. They are thin at the position and the hope was that Luncy could raise the floor of the unit.
Nature Of The Portal
The transfer portal is tricky to navigate. We are learning that these announcements mean something but it isn’t official. Late last night, quarterback Jayden Maiava switched his commitment from Georgia to USC a mere 24 hours after committing. Coaches are not only going to have to work to secure commitments but also keep the players committed. This is the new era of college football and everyone is trying to navigate it.
Deion Sanders still has a great class coming in. There are also plenty of other players left in the portal for the Colorado Buffaloes or any team.
