The 2014 Auburn football team is that of legend. Preseason unranked Auburn entered November 7-1, and after dominant road wins against Tennessee and Arkansas, faced off against #25 Georgia at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Trailing by one with 36 seconds remaining, the Tigers faced a 4th & 18 from their 26-yard-line. In one of the most improbable moments in Auburn football history, quarterback Nick Marshall sailed a 55-yard pass downfield into triple coverage, leading to a forward tip that landed in the hands of wide receiver Ricardo Louis for a 73-yard score, aka the “The Prayer at Jordan-Hare,” and an eventual Auburn win.

One week later, Auburn again shocked the college football world with what is now known simply as the “Kick Six.” With EA College Football 25 fast approaching, more news surrounding the game’s features continues to be released. On Wednesday, reports surfaced that iconic moments during college football’s last decade will be playable, including the famous “Kick Six” from the 2014 Auburn football season.

Kick Six: College Football’s Most Memorable Moment

The past decade has been flush with iconic college football moments. From Washington’s improbable late-game stop against Texas in last year’s College Football Playoff semifinals, Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa coming off the bench to lead the Crimson Tide to a title win in 2018, and Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel beating Alabama on the road en route to a Heisman Trophy win. However, nothing likely tops the Auburn football “Kick Six” in 2014.

There will be a feature called 'In Case You Missed It' in EA College Football 25 allowing you to replay iconic CFB moments you may have missed over the past decade.

With a trip to the SEC Championship on the line, the Auburn Tigers hosted the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide in the season finale. Alabama entered the contest a perfect 11-0, led by the duo of quarterback A.J. McCarron and wide receiver Amari Cooper. Alabama took the lead in the second and fourth quarters, resulting in an Auburn scoring rally each time. With Auburn tying the game at 28 a piece courtesy of a Nick Marshall to Sammie Coates touchdown with 32 seconds left in regulation,

Alabama quickly drove down to the Tigers 38-yard-line. After a coach challenge by Alabama’s Nick Saban and an icing of the kicker from Auburn coach Gus Malzahn, the Crimson Tide attempted a walk-off 57-yard field goal from freshman Adam Griffith over the struggling Cade Foster.

The rest is history. Griffith’s field goal fell short, and with Auburn’s Chris Davis camped in the back of the endzone in the off chance the ball fell short of the goal post, the speedster returned the kick 109 yards for arguably the most significant play in college football history. Davis’ heroics had a domino effect. Auburn football beat arch-rival Alabama, earned a trip to the SEC Championship, and eventually a birth in the BCS National Championship. It’s one thing to win a regular-season finale with significant postseason implications, but it’s another thing to beat your biggest rival on the biggest stage with a 109-yard field goal return.

EA College Football 25 will make its highly anticipated release next week. After over a decade of absence, the college football video game will return this year, with many fans ready to return to the virtual gridiron. Auburn football fans will have their chance to relive the 2014 season in the form of the “Kick Six,” according to College Football Report on Twitter.

Among other iconic college football instants reportedly playable in EA College Football 25 are moments from UCF’s 2017 perfect season and Alabama’s title redemption against Clemson. UCF posted a 13-0 record in 2017, including a Peach Bowl victory against Auburn. Meanwhile, Alabama bested Clemson in the College Football Playoff in 2017 after falling to the ACC club in the 2016 title game.
