Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is set to publish a new book in October. Kaepernick won an award from Audible in 2023 for his memoir “Change The Game,” which was published as a graphic novel and in audio form.

According to a statement by Scholastic, Kaepernick teamed up with his long-time girlfriend Nessa Diab and Scholastic to publish a book based on the ten tenants of Know Your Rights Camp, a non-profit organization for social justice that Kaepernick is a founder of.
Per the statement, the book will be published on Oct. 1. The book explores the ideas of freedom for young people:
With illustrations by Gladys Jose, We Are Free, You & Me is a lyrical affirmation of what freedom truly means—and celebrates the principles of Colin and Nessa’s Know Your Rights Camp, an international movement that has inspired thousands of young people to rejoice in their inherent goodness.
