The Cleveland Browns have been struggling at the quarterback position since the 2023 season started. Starter Deshaun Watson has not lived up to the hype and has been dealing with several injuries. A trade proposal from Bleacher Report suggests that the team shops for a quarterback before the trade deadline that they are familiar with in Cleveland.

Cleveland Browns Quarterback Issues
Jacoby Brissett proved that he can play at a high level in his stint as the Browns’ backup quarterback last season. In 11 starts last year, he amounted to 2,608 passing yards and 12 touchdowns. Cleveland went 4-7 when Watson made his debut as the starter after he served an 11-game suspension.
Now that Watson is dealing with a rotator cuff injury, his availability has been fluctuating for the last few weeks. P.J. Walker has started the last couple of games for Cleveland and has been carried by the Browns’ stout defense. In three games this year, Walker has gone for 618 passing yards and one touchdown along with five interceptions. It is clear that Cleveland has a quarterback issue, and Brissett can help his former team out.
Jacoby Brissett Impact
Brissett has been on the Washington Commanders this season serving as the backup to Sam Howell. He has not played a single snap this season and fans and analysts want him to get another shot. Going into his eighth season, he has gone for 10,350 passing yards and 48 touchdowns. He has been a solid option at quarterback throughout his career and has been consistent when needed.
The Browns are currently 4-3 and coming off of a tough loss in week eight against the Seattle Seahawks. They are sitting in third place in the highly competitive AFC North and are looking to make a run for the divisional crown. With Watson being a disappointment this year, Brissett can bring back the energy to Cleveland like he did last season.
