The seemingly endless search of the Cleveland Browns for a stable solution under center continues. Sure, they have Deshaun Watson, but between his health troubles and off-the-field issues, it’s hard to feel that the Browns have a long-term answer at the quarterback position in him.
The signing of 40-year-old Joe Flacco this offseason was perhaps an indictment of that notion. Then came the 2025 NFL draft, where Cleveland took not just one but two quarterbacks in Dillon Gabriel of the Oregon Ducks and Shedeur Sanders of the Colorado Buffaloes.
The Browns taking two signal-callers via the draft has become some sort of a polarizing football topic. But for Mason Graham, Cleveland’s top pick in this year’s NFL draft, he’d rather look at the positive.
“There’s a lot of controversy about drafting two quarterbacks,” Graham said during an interview on 92.3 The Fan’s Afternoon Drive on Wednesday (h/t Sports Illustrated). “You know, I love the competition. I just want to get the best players and I think that’s what we did.”
A crowded QB room makes for an interesting camp for the Cleveland Browns

Apart from the aforementioned QBs, the Browns also have former Pittsburgh Panthers star Kenny Pickett in the fold, as Cleveland traded for him this offseason from the Philadelphia Eagles.
If anything, it will be interesting to follow Cleveland’s training camp, with all these players in the quarterback room.
In the 2024 NFL season, Watson started for the Browns for several games before suffering a devastating Achilles injury that paved the way for Jameis Winston to take over the QB1 role. Cleveland finished the 2024 campaign last in the league with just 15.2 points per game and 28th with 300.8 total yards per outing.
