“That’s Unfair”: Shedeur Sanders Critics Slammed By Malik Nabers

Malik Nabers, wide receiver for the New York Giants, had plenty to say in defense of Shedeur Sanders on former NBA player Carmelo Anthony’s show, ‘7PM in Brooklyn’. Nabers’ perspective was indeed a fresh take on Sanders who has been vilified by the media and several NFL analysts who condemned the young quarterback for being arrogant and cocky in his pre-draft process.

As a result of this public perception, Sanders’ draft stock fell and the Colorado alumnus was called out only in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft. He eventually went to the Cleveland Browns who selected him as the 144th pick.

“Everybody has different personalities—you’ll never meet two people with the same personality anywhere. You can’t mix that. We’re all made differently. So for them to judge him just on the things he says or how he carries himself? That’s unfair. How he carries himself is all about how his dad raised him. And they know Deion—we all know Deion. Come on now, we all know Deion. They were just doing that to show that they’re bigger than what he wanted to stand for. And I understand that, but you don’t do that. You just don’t do that—not to a kid who’s been working his whole life. He’s been told that Deion’s kids would never be as good as him—and now, look.” Malik Nabers spoke about Shedeur Sanders to Carmelo Anthony on his ‘7PM in Brooklyn’ show.

Shedeur Sanders is the youngest son of Deion ‘Coach Prime’ Sanders and is quite a talented quarterback, just like his father. Sanders played college football for the Jackson State Tigers and the Colorado Buffaloes. For Colorado in his senior year, Sanders threw for a total of 4,134 yards, scoring 37 touchdowns, along with ten interceptions.

Shedeur Sanders’ Jersey Is The Highest Sold Among Rookie NFL Players

Although many people in the NFL might not like Shedeur Sanders, the masses seem to simply love him. And proof of that is Sanders’ jersey being the highest-selling among all NFL rookie jerseys. It looks like Sanders has got the last laugh after all.

Shedeur Sanders is hoping to make his debut for the Cleveland Browns in the 2025 NFL season. It still is not clear as to whether the Browns will play Sanders or wait for the upcoming season to pass. However, one thing is quite clear – the Cleveland Browns will be leaning on Joe Flacco as their starting quarterback.
