The Cleveland Browns had a memorable 2023 season. They finished with an 11-6 record and made a surprising playoff appearance. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski arguably had one of the best coaching performances this season. Now, he is recognized for it after a tight vote.
Cleveland Browns HC Kevin Stefanski Recognized
The NFL Honors show revealed that Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski won the 2023 AP Coach of the Year award. Considering the Browns made it to the playoffs despite starting five different quarterbacks this season, it is a heck of an accomplishment. However, what is more unbelievable is just how close this vote was.
Close Vote
So, what was the final vote for this award? Believe it or not, Stefanski and Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans finished with the same number of total points (165). However, despite the Texans winning the wild card clash, Stefanski edged out Ryans for this award.
A few other head coaches received some votes for this award. These include Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell (33 points), San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan (26), and Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh (26). All of them had a season to remember.
