Enter a slight stirring of the pot if you will. How could Ryan Tannehill? The guy who jumped into a dumpster fire, then lead his team to a conference championship and multiple playoff appearances potentially be at risk. The Titans have named Ryan Tannehill as the unanimous starter heading into the season granted there were quite a few injuries and a lack of Reciever depth Ryan Tannehill’s QB stats took a dramatic drop off in his second full season as a Titan
In his (Tannehills) first season he threw 33 TDS and just 7 interceptions with a league-leading qbr of 106.8. Granted a few more targets clutch tight end Jonnau smith, receiver Corey Davis and of course titans star Aj brown all gone from the Roster as of this writing. The team signed Julio jones who spent most of his season on the ir and provided little to no power to the Titans’ offense. Aj brown when healthy showed he’s as good a top 10. And of course, henry hurt halfway through the season and hurt Tannehill’s production as well. His second-season stats dropped to 21 TDS and his interceptions doubled. While his qbr dropped to 89
When the lights got brighter his resume was damaged even more. With the Titans, a lock for a first-round buy and home field throughout the playoffs the Titans welcome in the Bengals who despite a talented team we’re underdogs to the Titans. Ryan Tannehill layed a massive egg, throwing 3 horrific interceptions where at least 2 of them could have been avoided. Let’s blame irregular and questionable play-calling as well on this miserable titans defeat.
In came the Nfl draft where the stats of the future are selected dreams come true, family’s lives change forever, you get the jist. The titans made one of the biggest shockers of the Draft trading Aj brown away to the Eagles for the 18th pick in the draft. Aj brown whose been an absolute assassin for the titans was dealt away for the Titans to select Treylon Burks who has high odds for offensive rookie of the year. That may be, but the Titans weren’t willing to match Brown’s requested number. Jalen Hurts will have a New toy in the city of brotherly love. The Titans will see him live on December 4th when the Titans travel to lincoln financial field to take on the Eagles on the road
As a side note, the Titans also signed Tight end Austin hooper. All these things can give the Titans tremendous upside or provide challenges to tall for Tannehill. While we don’t necessarily say Tannehill’s on a super hot seat. There’s certainly a small flame on his despite signing a massive contract one season ago. The absence of Aj brown will be hard to Fill. Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear and Malik Willis may be closer than Tannehill thinks.
